The German designer’s PR director Caroline Fragner has issued a statement saying Lagerfeld is not involved in the creation of new fragrance Paper Passion as was reported last week.
Stating that only beauty giant Coty Prestige develops and distributes any fragrance for the label Karl Lagerfeld, Fragner explained:
“Mr Lagerfeld refutes his implication in the launch of the perfume Paper Passion. This project, of which Mr Steidl told him about, only emanate[s] from the art books’ publisher himself.

Karl Lagerfeld, also known for owning an impressive library is ready to launch “a perfume that smells like books!”
“Paper Passion, which will be sold inside a hardcover book with the pages hollowed out to hold the flacon, will be developed with Berlin perfumer Geza Schön”.
According to Times Live, European publisher Steidl will work with Lagerfeld on this project. Steidl has distributed most of Lagerfeld’s photography books.

Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with Coca Cola Light for a second time to put his signature flair on a trio of limited-edition bottles.
Dressed in black and white with fuchsia touches, the bottles also feature Lagerfeld’s trademark, pony-tailed, white-collared silhouette.
Motifs of silver polka dots, black diamonds and bold fuchsia swirls drape the bottles and are topped off with hot pink caps.

Karl Lagerfeld is directing Magnum ice cream’s latest advertising campaign, which features American actress Rachel Bilson.
The three-piece film series will be revealed on April 21st during the Tribeca Film Festivalfor the debut of an original film series.
Simultaneous to the exclusive premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, the lead film will be released to viewers around the world on Magnum’s Facebook page.

Karl Lagerfeld has designed a pop-up hair salon and concept store for Schwarzkopf in his home town of Düsseldorf, reports WWD today.
The German city – also home of the Schwarzkopf hair care brand – will play host to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in April.
The Lagerfeld’s Schwarzkopf Lightbox by Karl Lagerfeld, which will stay open for four weeks from April 16 before moving on to Milan and Paris.


Karl Lagerfeld sent a volcanic chill of autumn swirling through the Grand Palais on Tuesday as he presented a tomboyish Chanel fall-winter collection.
In a deliberate contrast from the Parisian garden theme that framed the spring-summer show, Lagerfeld sent darker, looser looks down a wooden boardwalk the length of a venue carpeted with volcanic dust that crunched underfoot.
The soundtrack – “A Forest” by The Cure, about a man who goes looking for a woman in, well, a forest – set the tone, even if there wasn’t a tree in sight.
