This time it’s not Goldstriker but Sayn Design that has come up with a platinum edition of the iPhone. Topping it off with diamond studded crown, Sayn has placed the dazzling cherries on the precious icing.
Coated with pure platinum, the only significant change about this gilded iPhone is that the iPhone button on the front is replaced by the Sayn Design crown.

iPhone has been a target of haute couture brands where they grab and slap it with precious stones in order to elevate its exclusivity factor. The honor of the most expensive iPhone is bagged by Amosu Ultimo Diamond but the iPhone used isn’t a 3G version. Even so, we do have a few blinged 3G iPhones like Gold & Diamond from Goldstriker, Diamond studded Olympic iPhone and Diamond-Studded iPhone 3G by Knalihs Athem.
The latter being the most expensive jeweled 3G version till date. Today we have one more company that is aiming to revive the union of gemstones with hyped 3G iPhone. Continental Mobiles, well known for its range of luxurious cell phones, has pimped the 3G 16GB white luxury iPhone with Pigeon Blood Red rubies and white diamonds. It is exclusively and intricately handcrafted. This piece of art comes from England and retails for £3099 (about $5,550).

Upset that the Apple iPhone is no longer exclusive enough? Then, App Store has the perfect downloadable application for you, called I Am Rich.
The program displays a red gem, has no function but to display your wealth to others through ownership, and costs $1000.
The description in iTunes reads “The red icon on your iPhone or iPod Touch always reminds you (and others when you show it to them) that you were able to afford this. It’s a work of art with no hidden function at all…”
As kottke said, “For some, the iPhone is already an obvious display of wealth and I Am Rich is commenting on that. Plus, buying more than you need as an indication of wealth is practically an American core value for a growing segment of the population.”
Unfortunately you wont be able to download it anymore. It has since been removed from the Apple Store for no reason… Though, the “I am Rich” application is one of those reasons why you have to make sure your iTunes asks for you permission to buy apps before purchasing !
