Christie’s International, the world’s leading art business, has launched its new, free App designed specifically for users of the Apple iPad.

The new App takes users on a tour of Christie’s upcoming auctions and enables “at a glance” browsing of hundreds of luxury items and objects to be sold in the company’s salerooms worldwide.

Christie’s offers over 450 auctions annually in over 80 categories, including all areas of fine and decorative arts, jewelry, photographs, collectibles, wine, and more.

David August, is introducing a new collection of exotic leather goods including an iPad cover that retails for $6,900.

Crafted of the world’s finest alligator skin hand cut and stitched in Italy by a skilled family of artisans, the collection of five luxe pieces is available in both a glazed and matte finish in over 20 different colors.

The collection also includes a laptop case, a Dopp kit, a watch holder, and a change tray. All together, the collection costs $37,800.

Iceland Express has become the latest carrier to offer passengers iPads, joining a small but rapidly growing club turning to Apple for their inflight entertainment.

The budget airline, which flies from Reykjavik to destinations including London, New York, Berlin and Copenhagen, will introduce the devices first on transatlantic flights, before rolling it out to the rest of the fleet over the next few months.

Passengers will have to pay $13 to use the devices, which can be used to watch movies and television shows, listen to music, read magazines and play games.

The Tartan Leather iPad Case features a rich dark leather with the tartan pattern imposed onto the leather itself.

The interior of the Ralph Lauren iPad case is lined in solid calfskin with a lightly padded plaid sleeve for added protection.

The latest designer brand to jump into the iPad case/cover craze is Burberry, with the launch of their new cases in buffalo leather.

The case is designed to protect the Ipad and provide a stand when the device is in use. The interior is a snuggly leather and even has a flap for holding papers.

The Burberry Grainy Leather iPad cover retails for $450. They have got it bright Military Red and in Chocolate brown.

Since iPads are taking the world by storm, many designers have hopped on the bandwagon to create covers such as the Dior Homme iPad case.

The case comes in book format and will be available in two material options – black tie leather or classic coated canvas. One side of the case is a notepad, the other one holds the iPad.

Priced around US $895, the case will be available soon in select Dior Homme boutiques and has been designed to fit Apple’s iPad perfectly.
