Memory specialist Super Talent has announced a limited edition 18-carat gold version of its diminutive Pico-C Drive. The swank 8GB USB device features 200X (30MB/sec) data transferspeeds, is water resistant and comes with a matching gold keychain and black velvet jewelry box.
The plug-and-play drive also includes FIPS certified AES-256 Encryption software, a serialized Certificate of Authenticity and, with executive Christmas gifts clearly in mind, it can be laser etched with text or a logo on the casing.
This rare collector’s item is available only on a preorder basis Via the Super Talent site for a limited time, with three to four weeks lead time. At $599 it’s one of the most expensive 8GB USB drives you’ll find, but that’s the price you pay for an enclosure of 75 percent gold.

Korean company Yujin Robot has been showing off a coffee barista robot that delivers your coffee with precision and with complete politeness.
For those who believe that technology and robotics will make their life a lot easier than at any time in the past, this is probably something that would not really surprise you.
Although details are sparse the robot has already been given the catchy name CAFERO and has been making the rounds at Robot World 2008, which is currently running in Seoul. There is no date set or even price tag on CAFERO yet. (Photos : Aving)

LG have released the second iteration of their Prada phone named the Prada II. The Prada II phone is based on the first Prada phone but features numerous improvements.
It boasts of 7.2Mbps HSDPA 850 / 2100, WiFi, TV-out, FM radio, and a 5-megapixel camera. The side-slider also hosts a full QWERTY keyboard. LG Prada II also has an FM radio and TV output, together with a full HTML browser. It uses a capacitive touchscreen, similar to that of the iPhone, but without multitouch functionality.
The new Prada mobile will be available with a starting price at major mobile dealerships (as well as Prada Stores) in Italy, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Netherlands in the end of October or beginning of November. Price: €600 (over $800).
There seems to be a lack of enthusiasm from both bloggers and commenters on this one which I’m not sure if I attribute to the high price of the phone or the design.

If you’re in the market for a different kind of laptop system - check out the Singulum laptop system.
Each Singulum system is crafted out of a single block of wood and features a keyboard made out of either ivory of 24 carat solid gold (be careful if you select the ivory as many countries including the US have a strict ban on ivory imports).
Now some of their product pictures on their website seem to infer that there’s a single piece of diamond used like a trackpoint pointer..

The New Zealand company Arvus has come with an exclusively stylish loudspeakers aptly titled “The Prerenaissance”.
Each pair of the loudspeakers has taken hundreds of man hours each and the result is of course extravagant and almost artistic.
Starting from the bottom up, the plinth is made from hand carved granite. Four chambers house a quasi-five-way design and the sound technology offered is a perfect match for the expensive looks. With 6 channels of amplification, the speakers can make up a total of 3000 watts RMS.
The design was inspired by such objects as a exotic cars, the Coke bottle and musical instruments. The angles were chosen to give the speaker a feeling movement and life.
According to Arvus there are dozens of finishing options, from wood (like you see here), painted, carbon fibre, and even stainless steel.
Each pair of The Prerenaissance loudspeakers costs $140,000 (the price includes delivery, setup, and tuning)
