French perfume brand Guerlain is set to launch of the latest version of its famous Shalimar fragrance, Parfum Initial L’Eau Si Sensuelle.

Guerlain has teamed up with the Italian fashion house Emilio Pucci to create a new makeup collection for summer 2012.

As with the first collaboration between Pucci and Guerlain, the common thread of this collaboration is a motif inspired by the iconic Pucci print ‘Winter Capri’.

Guerlain teamed again with Baccarat to manufacture a massive flacon for the ultra-exclusive flacon of their new perfume called L’Abeille de Guerlain.

It is meant to look like a gigantic bee with its wings faceted like precious diamonds.

The bee has been a symbol of Guerlain since founder Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain came to fame crafting perfumes for Empress Eugénie of France, who reigned from 1853 to 1870; the bee was the emblem of France’s Second Empire.

French beauty brand Guerlain has unveiled a new anti-ageing treatment, called Abeille Royale Youth Serum.

The product is claimed to harness the reparative power of bee products to repair wrinkles and promote tissue firmness.

A key ingredient is the Pure Royal Concentrate, described as a blend of exclusive elements capable of activating key factors of the skin’s self-repair mechanisms.

An engraved Guerlain bottle from 1870 fetched the record sum of €45,600 at an auction in the city of Arcachon, in the southwest of France.

The flacon, engraved with the house’s original address, Rue de la Paix, was initially expected to fetch €20,000 to €30,000.

Organized by Arcachon auction house Toledano, the sale took place in the presence of French fragrance expert Bernard Gangler.
