Art and wine lovers will be mingling at the Maison Ruinart Champagne lounge at next month’s annual Art Basel Miami Beach art show.

Internationally acclaimed Dutch furniture designer and artist Maarten Baas will be selling one of his latest works of art—a “melting” centerpiece that turns any room into a Salvador Dalí painting!

Constructed from Murano glass, silver and bottles of Ruinart Champagne, Bouquet de Champagne de Dom Ruinart is inspired by an 18th century Venetian chandelier and is designed to appear as if the chandelier has fallen and is melting into the table, along with bottles of Dom Ruinart and specially designed flutes.

The piece will be offered for sale at $100,000.

(Ruinart is the oldest Champagne house, exclusively producing champagne since 1729. Founded by Nicolas Ruinart in the Champagne region in the city of Reims, the house is today owned by the parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA.)

Inspired by graffiti, nature, sculpture, lighting, music and souvenirs, designer Charles Kalpakian’s playful lamp ‘dog’ stores books on his back and lights up by pulling his tail several times, a dynamo stores energy and provides light.

Casimir, one of the leading designers of his generation in Belgium, has been producing and distributing furniture designs under his own name since 1995.

His designs are characterised by his use of warm, rich varieties of wood. Although his comfortable, sturdy pieces of furniture wouldn’t have been unfamiliar to Breughel, Casimir’s use of surrealism, through some clever optical illusions and semiotic, adds a new dimension.

For more than 25 years, Michael Dunlap has crafted uniquely original automobile models. Typically they are built to 1:12 scale, hand engraved and finished in 24 Karat gold. They are purchased for different reasons — their beauty as artwork, display in museums and trophies to commemorate special automotive racing events.

Each model is a commissioned order. Therefore, the price is determined by the complexity of the project desired by the client.
