These sinks with patented ‘Horizontal Integrated Siphon’ technology (basically a horizontal drain) were introduced by Italian company Axolute at FuoriSalone 2008 and will revolutionise your bathroom design.
The stunning polished stainless sink features the HIS system, which replaces the traditional drain pipe usually visible underneath basins. Instead, the water flows along the slot of the front of the basin and back into the wall connection.
The lack of pipes underneath makes these designs particularly effective when mounted by themselves, as well as highly convenient to be fitted over a vanity unit.
They are available now at Axolute’s website

These pictures are from a wonderful New York City penthouse apartment designed by UnStudio. This building features a series of metal bands at different sizes that creates a unique shape for the building and provides a little character for each floor.
These some pictures of this building, the wide living area with modern fireplace, modern bar stool table, the bathroom with an awesome views.
The building is Five Franklin Place in TriBeCa.

Pictured above: Guilty, a 115-foot yacht designed by Jeff Koons and commissioned by Greek billionaire Dakis Joannou, who owns one of the world’s finest collections of contemporary art.
The exterior design was created by international art star Jeff Koons, famous for his basketball in perspex case, three-storey high “Puppy” made of flowers, and the “Made in Heaven” erotic series of photographs with Italian ex-wife and porn-star-member-of-parliament La Cicciolina.
Koons based his design on a WWI camouflage pattern. complemented by architect Ivana Porfiri’s jagged shapes.
Guilty is likely to appear in next month’s Italian Vogue.

The first auction devoted solely to contemporary design will take place at Christie’s in New York this autumn.
“It really is an increasingly popular market,” said Carina Villinger, design specialist of Christie’s New York. “There is a huge overlap with contemporary art. It has got to the point where we need a separate auction.
The Christie’s sale will feature items such as a polyurethane table by the London-based Iranian architect Zaha Hadid, who designed the aquatics centre for the London Olympics, estimated to raise $200,000.
Another lot will be a highly polished steel sofa by the British-born Israeli designer Ron Arad for $300,000. Arad’s work will be exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York next year. That sofa is made of steel that’s polished to match the reflection of a real mirror!
Zaha Hadid Architects have developed designs for a new opera house and cultural centre for Dubai.
The fluid, dune-shaped will accommodate an opera house, playhouse, arts gallery, performing arts school and themed hotel on an island in Dubai Creek, just off the mainland part of the district.
All of these facilities will be state of the art to host world class performances and exhibitions. The opera house will have a seating capacity of 2,500 while the playhouse will have a seating capacity of 800.
The arts gallery with 5000m2 of exhibition space is indeed a full size exhibition facility comparable to the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The hotel will accommodate guests in a 6 star setting.
Sited on an island in Dubai Creek, the development will be connected to Greater Dubai by a road connection to the mainland.
The proposal houses all of the facilities within a single striking structure,” Zaha Hadid Architects describe the project. “The gentle winding form evokes images of mountains or sand dunes. Rising out of the ground, this form is both a part of the landscape yet very much a distinct element in the skyline. The surrounding landscape forms build up to the main building. These constitute open park spaces as well as ancillary functions such as the parking facilities and the monorail station, which are either tucked under or integrated into the landscape forms.
Imagine how wonderful life would be, if every morning you could simply press a button and a warm and inviting shower would be waiting for you when you reached your bathroom. Few of us can deny that at some point we’ve dreamt of such a luxury !
This Grohtherm wireless shower can be switched on and off from any room in the house, allowing you to step out of bed and straight into a shower already running at the exact temperature you require.
The remote system can be programmed for each member of the family or for different times of the day (if you want a cold shower to wake you in the morning and a warm one to relax at night).
The remote wirelessly connects to a concealed base unit, which uses your settings to adjust and mix the water to your setting. When the ideal setting is found, a visible or audible signal will highlight this. There’s also a split-second response if the water flow changes, adjusting the flow to the right temperature accordingly.
The wireless shower system costs around – £720 ($1,450) and is available on bargainplumbingshop
