Citroen has unveiled a distinctly unconventional concept set to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show later this month.

The Tubik, a far cry from the sleek concepts normally on display at top auto shows, is a large van designed to explore the idea that ‘travel should be fun.’

Capable of seating nine passengers, the Tubik is designed in conjunction with Multicity, a transport-sharing scheme operated by Citroen in France.

Citroen DS3 by Orla Kiely Collection is limited to 500 units and features the designer’s iconic style inside and out.

Available in four body colors and four different roof designs – featuring Orla’s signature stem or acorn patterns, the special edition vehicles come with colored door mirrors; stem print rear window graphics, and black or white 17” alloy wheels.

French carmaker Citroen and French clothing brand Lacoste have collaborated on a brand new concept car to be revealed at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

The buggy-looking concept certainly has a lot of reference to the image of Lacoste, one that promotes a colorful, vibrant, and sporty lifestyle.

It features golf ball-style alloy wheels plus several parts that resemble sections of a tennis net on certain sides of the body.

Citroën and Japanese fashion house Kenzo have teamed up for a unique one-off. The DS3 Kenzo features special graphics that can be found on the vehicles’ roof.

The theme used on the outside has also made its way into the interior of the vehicle, being featured on the front and rear seats.

This isn’t the only project of its kind. Back in spring, the French designer Yves Saint-Laurent created a special, one-off incarnation of the DS3.

The French carmaker has just unveiled today the Citroen Metropolis concept which will be premiered at the Shanghai World Fair from 1st of May 2010.

Created by Citroën‘s international design team – based in Shanghai since 2008 – Citroën Metropolis will be on show in the French Pavilion at the Shanghai World Fair from 1st May to 31st October, 2010.

The Citroen Metropolis is a big luxury sedan with a wheelbase bigger than both the Audi A8 or Mercedes S-Class and it just so happens to follow the debut of the BMW long-wheelbase 5 series at the Beijing Motor Show.

Citroen worked together with Yves Saint-Laurent fashion designer to create a special edition of DS3 model.

This special edition Citroen hatchback comes with a new red exterior color that’s combined with the black roof with that unmistakable Yves Saint Laurent logo.

The trendy version of the DS3 is not for sale – it was built to bring VIP guests to the premiere of the fashion house’s retrospective exhibition, held last week.

The display was created by the Pierre Berge foundation and features over 300 models that showcase a complete image of Yves Saint Laurent’s work.
