Gucci opens it 28th store in China on the 6 June 2009, to mark the occasion Frida Giannini has created a limited edition “Shanghai Dragon Bag”.
A version of the sort after Boston Bag in white with two red Dragons facing each other in a symmetrical fashion and the Gucci signature in the middle, underneath is a bright red column.
Inspiration for the design comes from ancient Chinese Symbolism including the use of prosperous red, a sign of good luck.

From famous chateaux ranging from Lafite to Margaux and Mouton, wine lovers had a chance to bid for top French wine in Beijing on Friday at the first wine auction yet on the Chinese mainland.
Around 1,000 bottles of fine wine from France’s renowned Bordeaux area were on auction with a starting price of several hundred to several thousand U.S. dollars Xinhua reports.
94 percent of the wines were sold and over 90 percent of the buyers said they would drink the wines themselves, not for investment.

A model recently presented a wedding dress decorated with peacock feathers at the wedding expo held in Nanjing, China.
The unique dress took eight handicraftsmen two months to finish!
The peacock wedding dress made of brocade is decorated with 2009 peacock tail feathers and 60 Hetian jades, and cost 10 million yuan (US$1.4 million), according to the expo organizer.


One of the great names in wine-making, Domaines Barons de Rothschild, said Sunday it plans to develop a vineyard in China to take advantage of growing interest in wine here.
Chateau Lafite has a very high reputation on China and has partnered with CITIC, China’s largest state-owned investment company on 62 acres of vines on a peninsula in eastern China’s Shandong province.
“I am very pleased to develop a vineyard in a country where the interest in fine wines is increasing every year.”
