“It’s the end of the world, baby!” is the title of the latest edition of the iconic Campari calendar unveiled last week in Milan.
Inspired by the Mayan prediction that the world will end on 21 December 2012, the Italian drink company’s calendar features a series of photos where Milla Jovovich is portrayed in different end-of-the-world scenarios.
the powerful images were taken by internationally recognized fashion and advertising French photographer Dimitri Daniloff.


Italian Vanity Fair has an exclusive preview of the illustrious Pirelli calendar, providing a first glimpse at this year’s models, who include Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Milla Jovovich, Saskia de Brauw, Isabeli Fontana, and the actress Rinko Kikuchi.
Shot in Corsica, the photos are by Mario Sorrenti, who is best known for his artful nudes in the pages of magazines such as Vogue.
Locations used included abandoned old farmhouses as well as the blue seawater with backdrops of rocky outcrops.

The illustrious calendar’s casting director, Jennifer Starr, has confirmed that Italian photographer Mario Sorrenti is 2012′s Pirelli man, Stylecaster reports.
Other fashion sites, including Fashion Copius and Fashionologie, had previously assumed that Steven Meisel would capture next year’s edition.
Karl Lagerfeld, Terry Richardson, or Patrick Demarchelier were chosen to shoot the calendar, which is commissioned by Italian tire company Pirelli, in past years.

The 2011 Pirelli Calendar was unveiled in Moscow and was put together by designer Karl Lagerfeld with the pictures being taken in his studio in Paris.
He dressed models including actress Julianne Moore in gold laurel wreathes and gold body paint, while the four male models wore metallic gold codpieces.
The designer chose the theme of Greek mythology for the photo shoot because of his childhood love for sagas such as Homer’s the Iliad, he said.


Japanese jewelry maker Ginza Tanaka has put on sale a 2011 calendar made of 6 kilograms of pure gold featuring popular Dutch rabbit character Miffy.
The calendar measuring 64 centimeters by 40 centimeters is on sale at eight outlets of the company as well as online.
The special solid gold Miffy calendar celebrates the “Year of the Rabbit 2011” and is on sale for a whopping 55 million yen ($655,000).


After Jessica Alba and Olga Kurylenko it’s now the turn of Benicio Del Toro to grace the much awaited Campari Calendar 2011.
