The German designer’s PR director Caroline Fragner has issued a statement saying Lagerfeld is not involved in the creation of new fragrance Paper Passion as was reported last week.
Stating that only beauty giant Coty Prestige develops and distributes any fragrance for the label Karl Lagerfeld, Fragner explained:
“Mr Lagerfeld refutes his implication in the launch of the perfume Paper Passion. This project, of which Mr Steidl told him about, only emanate[s] from the art books’ publisher himself.

Italian luxury house Gucci is partaking in the global scavenger hunt organized by Jay-Z and search engine Bing in advance of the rapper’s book release.
The innovative marketing campaign physically placed pages from Jay Z’s memoir Decoded in various venues meaningful to the hip hop impresario, including the Delano Hotel in Miami and the Spotted Pig restaurant in New York.
Clues as to where pages were hidden were regularly revealed on the singer’s Facebook and Twitter pages as well as on a dedicated Bing website.
Last week, Gucci unveiled two of the book’s pages in the storefront windows of its Fifth Avenue flagship in New York.

Australian publisher Gordon Cheers debuted the world’s biggest book – a six-by-nine-foot atlas – at the Frankfurt Book Fair last week. It is priced at $100,000.
The publisher said that the last book even close in size to his 128-page volume was the Klencke Atlas, produced in 1660 as a gift for Charles II of England.
“But that was about one foot smaller than this,” Cheers proudly told AFP. “This is the first time a book this size has ever been seen.”
