Footballer David Beckham and his wife Victoria have an art collection worth almost $44 million and are now planning to put it on public display.

The entire collection, bought over eight years, is “love themed”.

It includes paintings, portraits and sculptures by Damien Hirst, Sam Taylor Wood, Tracey Emin, Banksy, and Jake and Dinos Chapman, mirror.co.uk reported.

Some of the art is openly sentimental but other pieces like Hirst’s bull’s heart stabbed with scalpels, speak to the trials and tribulations of modern romance.

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly keen to snap up George Clooney’s Lake Como villa after he put it up for sale.

The 48-year-old actor has put his Italian home on the market because of harrassment by paparazzi.

According to The Daily Mail, David Beckham has allegedly spent £2,000 ($3,300) flying his pet bulldog puppy to Los Angeles.

The British Bulldog puppy was a gift from Victoria and was put on a plane – first-class of course – and flown out to their LA home by a specialist service.

The Beckham’s used the UK’s premier pet transportation company, PetAir, for the 5,500-mile journey which reportedly begun with a slap-up meal at the home of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

David and Victoria Beckham were planning to buy the famous Castle Sforzesco in Milan according to reports, but they have been told they can’t.

Victoria’s plans were to invest in the castle and make it the family home, but still keep the museum open in order to make a financial return.

However, it seems that they have failed to win this bid on the gorgeous 15th century castle that now houses artworks by Michelangelo and Da Vinci.

The construction of the resort style villa was completed in mid 2008. The three floor home set the Beckham’s back $5.8 million and sits on 8 acres amid the hills overlooking a private beach.
