Asia’s premier watch and jewellery showcase returns for its eighth iteration this year. Endorsed by Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the annual event has grown from strength to strength, and firmly established itself as the event to be at for the biggest and most prominent names in the global timepiece and jewellery industries.

A Journey Through Time VIII will be held from 21 to 28 November 2014, and serve as a prelude to BaselWorld 2015 with rare private collections, international product debuts and exquisite pieces from over 125 luxury brands, 5 of which are in Malaysia for the very first time.

The event will span three floors within Starhill Gallery, voted Asia’s Most Beautiful Mall by Forbes Traveller, with highlights including:

  • A watch and jewellery exhibition with over 30,000 square feet of public exhibition space. Visitors will be able to preview and acquire showcased pieces, or attend talks conducted by industry experts. They can also reserve complimentary guided tours led by watch experts from Starhill Gallery’s very own Watch & Jewellery Concierge.
  • A jewellery exposition by Damiani, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. Pieces that won the Diamond International Awards and creations such as the Vulcania Masterpiece in White Gold with Diamonds and Fancy Diamonds will also be on display.
  • A watch appraisal workshop by horologer Eric Ong, who founded Bonfield Find Jewellers, on the appraisal and authentication of timepieces.
  • The opening of HYT’s boutique in Starhill Gallery. As a brand, HYT is best known for merging traditional fine watchmaking with hydraulics, to present the time on a wristwatch in entirely different ways.

A range of awards will also be given out to recognize the most impressive novelties on display, with the seven categories being:

  • Starhill Gallery Favourite Ladies’ Watch Award
  • Starhill Gallery Favourite Men’s Watch Award
  • Starhill Gallery Watch with Complications in Movements Award
  • Starhill Gallery Timeless Jewellery Award
  • The YTL Spirit of Classical Art Award
  • The Judges’ Choice Award
  • Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Malaysia, Most Revered Award

Judges include Dr Bernard Chong, Mr Masanori Kondo, and Mr Su Jia Xian.
