The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracan Performante in the flesh

Perhaps one of the better partnerships to come out of the timepiece-automotive world, Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini’s association has always felt organic. Not only do both brands share a similar aesthetic code, but the philosophy of using avant-garde technology and pushing boundaries is also essentially what both names have built their successes on.

2019 will be the third year that Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini have worked together and the timepiece unveiled by the brand before SIHH, the Excalibur Huracán Performante, is an impeccable example of synergy between the two that fans will enjoy.

Behold the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracán Performante

The balance wheel of the Excalibur Huracan Performante inclines at 12°

Limited to just 88 pieces worldwide, the Excalibur Huracán Performante measures in at 45mm, and is no doubt, a contender for wrist presence. Unlike other Roger Dubuis models that have been done in collaboration with Lamborghini such as the Excalibur Aventador S that showcased double sprung balances, the new piece will see a singular 12° inclined balance wheel.

The watch is powered by the completely new calibre RD630 and its dial takes plenty of design cues from the car of which it shares the same name with, such as the hexagonal lines running through the entire dial as well as the honeycombed grill, mimicking the one found on the rear of the car.

Design cues for the Excalibur Huracán Performante come from an obvious source

Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini’s collections have so far only covered the Aventador and Huracán lines of the luxury automobile-maker, leaving its Urus (a Super Sports Utility Vehicle range) as well as its Concept and Few Off open for future collaborations.
