Bulgari Brought a Slice of Rome to Ion Orchard, Singapore

The new Bulgari Ion Boutique is a timeless yet contemporary vision of Rome

Dec 09, 2018 | By Lynette Kee

The new Bulgari boutique in Ion Orchard Singapore is everything you will find in the timeless city of Rome – sunlight, marble and a touch of history. The first house of Bulgari opened in Via dei Condotti, Rome since 1905. 130 years later, the Roman flagship was given a timeless yet contemporary facelift by renowned American architect Peter Marino. The result is an architectural depiction of true Romanian style.

Bulgari Introduces Its New Singapore Ion Boutique

This year, Bulgari brings a slice of Rome to Singapore’s heart of luxury: Ion Orchard. The design aesthetic stays true to the historical Roman flagship with many of the signature architectural elements reflected in the new store. While drawing on the Romanian design concept set by Peter Marino, the design of the ion boutique also incorporates new structures to match the modern building, creating a unique blend of the vibrant city life in Singapore and the restful, romantic soul of Rome.

As one enters the store, one is greeted by an ambience that resembles an open-air promenade or an Italian Piazza. The decor and furnishings are emblematic of the Bulgari spirit, which is the balance of new, tradition and innovation. Some of the furniture is carefully handpicked and conceived by Peter Marino himself. Whether its marble or bronze, Marino was able to source for the finest avant-garde designers to give the classic materials a bold modern twist.

Following the trend of luxury boutiques providing an enriching shopping experience, Bulgari too created a VIC area exclusively for customers to view some of the most precious collections in privacy. The room mimics the original Elizabeth Taylor-dedicated room in Rome, created by vintage armchairs inspired by Osvaldo Borsani, and coffee tables in onyx and rich carpet.

The Bulgari Ion boutique is now open. And in celebration of the new opening, a limited edition Serpenti Forever Handbag will be retailing at SG$10,500.
