New exclusive collection: Bottega Veneta reintroduces The Lauren 1980 seen in the American Gigolò movie with Lauren Hutton

Movies and fashion go hand in hand and it is difficult to think of one without linking it to the other. From the little black dress to the iconic tiffany blue box and more, Tinseltown has immortalised some of the most iconic styles and collections onto reel. One such creation that joins the list, is none other than ‘The Lauren 1980’. Seen on the arm of actress and model Lauren Hutton in the movie ‘American Gigolò’, the Bottega Veneta creation was brought back under the spotlight during the brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 runway show.

First presented to the world in the late 1970s, the bag features the intrecciato Nappa leather that is synonymous with the brand. At its recent runway show, Bottega brought back the bag and Hutton onto the runway to celebrate the now iconic creation. While Hutton carried the bag once again as she did in the movie, Bottega Veneta also launched a re-edition of the bag that is now named ‘The Lauren 1980’ that reintroduced the design and material of the original clutch.

Those who are interested in getting their hands on a piece of such cinematic history can purchase the clutch in the exclusive Gigolò Red. Each of ‘The Lauren 1980’s will carry an engraved tag on the inside with the name of the bag.
