Norwegian Breakaway 22 treatment rooms

Health and fitness enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that the Norwegian Breakaway, the new addition to the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet, is fitted with a two-deck spa as well as a complete fitness space.

The 23,000 square feet of space will include the first-ever salt room at sea, a therapy claimed to alleviate respiratory and skin ailments as well as strengthen the immune system, promote better sleep and improve overall lung function.

The spa will also include 13 heated loungers, a vitality pool, whirlpool, saunas, solarium and a steam room. In total, the ship’s spa will offer 22 treatment rooms and 50 services for both men and women, including facials and massages.

Other services on board include a full-service salon and barber shop as well as acupuncture and teeth whitening treatments.

The fitness program is inspired by an urban New York City playground, and includes interactive fight training against an avatar as well as boxing and spinning classes.

The new ship, to be delivered in April next year, will sail from New York in early May. It will have capacity for 4,000 passengers and will operate seven-day cruises to Bermuda between May and October. From October through April 2014, the ship will offer cruises from Manhattan to the Bahamas and Florida.
