The WSJ reported Thursday that Russian billionaire Yuri Milner has paid the highest known price ever for a single-family U.S. home — a whopping $100 million.

The mansion is a French-style chateau in the Loire style set on 18 acres in hills overlooking San Francisco Bay

The home has five bedrooms, a ballroom, wine cellar, gym, tennis courts, spa and pools inside and outside. There’s also a guest house on the property.

The home was not on the market, according to people familiar with the deal. Mr. Milner has no immediate plans to move into the home, a spokesman said.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the owner of the mansion would likely pay at least $1.1 million a year in property taxes and special assessments.

Yuri Milner was named one of the world’s 50 most prominent business people by Fortune Magazine in 2010.

He accrued his fortune thanks to some well-timed investments, like his $200 million stake in Facebook that has since exploded to $10 billion.
