Built in the 1880s, the brick townhouse was sold in 2011 by the estate of William Gottlieb, the late real-estate investor known for amassing a major portfolio of downtown Manhattan properties.

In 2012, the developers, Greystone and the Vesta Group, bought the property through a limited-liability company for $10.45 million.

They converted the space, which had been cut up into 10 units, into a single-family mansion, as it was originally intended.

Renovations in the 25-foot-wide townhouse included creating a window-wall system that folds to open the back of the home to a 1,000-square-foot garden. Amenities include a media room and a newly excavated climate-controlled wine cellar. There is an elevator as well as two fireplaces, a seven-zone central air system, smart-home features and oak wood flooring.
