A Fabergé imperial egg derived its concept from a Russian jeweller, Peter Carl Fabergé, who was famed for using precious metals and gemstones to manufacture genuine Easter eggs between 1885 and 1917.

This Holiday season, the House of Fabergé will bring back touches of splendour and grandeur to the Christmas tree as seen encapsulated in the bejewelled decorations, inspired by the Russian Empire.

Whether you are looking for an embellishment for your tree or present it as a gift, make Fabergé’s famous eggs your top choice this Christmas.

The famous imperial eggs have been given a modern makeover with themes associated with childhood, all embellished into the “Faberjorì” tree decoration collection from Italian design brand Alessi.

The “Faberjorì” tree decoration collection features many designs: a chick timidly peeping out from an egg, a toy soldier, a hot air balloon and other decors adorned with lily of the valley designs, and many more.

One may ask – How did the “Faberjorì” tree decoration come about? The interesting story started in 1885 when Russian Tsar Alexander III commissioned Fabergé to design an Easter egg for his wife Empress, Maria Fedorovna.

Taking inspiration from that era, Harrods, Britain-based luxury department store hopes that the old world’s charm continues to bring its allure and inspiration back to the modern era. And so, this Holiday is no exception – various decorations channel the Fabergé look into this exciting flair and festive bling which one can be proud of to put up on the tree.

The tree decorations boast a rich and opulent look: One has a mossy green background embellished with a gold and silver plant-like motif plus purple and clear gemstones; Purple jewels feature on another luxury bauble, with a white background and decorated with a pattern of golden ovals; and the pièce de résistance in delicate fir green bauble, decorated with intricate white apple blossom flowers and pearl-like jewels.
