
Harrods department store announced on Thursday it had joined with Swiss refiner Produits Artistiques Metaux Precieux to offer gold bars weighing 12.5kg.
Harrods, established in 1834, is the first London shop to offer gold in-store. The bars are being kept in a miniature vault on the lower ground floor.
The price of gold has soared in recent weeks as the dollar weakens, reaching another record high of US$1,063.60 an ounce (28.3g) on Thursday.


Paris’s Michelin-starred restaurant, the Tour d’argent, is to sell 18,000 bottles of wine and spirits in an auction which is expected to raise about a million euros.
The d’Argent restaurant, which dates back to 1582, is cleaning out its 450,000-bottle wine cellar, considered one of the best in the world.
The restaurant is also selling some very old spirits, like three bottles of a Clos du Griffier Cognac from 1788, the year before the French Revolution.

The Transformers actress, Megan Fox, 23, has signed on to model for the new Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans campaigns.
The actress succeeds Victoria Beckham (She is not re-upping her contract with the label so she can concentrate on her clothing line).
Fox’s Armani ads – which were photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Los Angeles this past weekend – will begin running worldwide in January.


India’s richest man took a 66 percent pay cut to “set a personal example of moderation” after India’s government called for austerity in salaries of executives
Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries, said he would cap his pay at 150m rupees ($3.3m) this year. He received 440m rupees in 2008.
With a net worth of $19.5 billion, Mukesh Ambani has been ranked seventh in the global list, topped by Microsoft founder Bill Gates ($40 billion).


Armani Dolci is a Giorgio Armani special line that features delectable chocolates, now including a special orange packaging for Halloween.
In the chic box, closed with a silk ribbon, there are artfully filled dark and milk chocolate bonbon with creamy fillings of gianduja (chocolate and nuts), and…a secret frizzy ingredient.

Levi’s “Go Forth” campaign is sending denim lovers and treasure seekers alike on a nationwide scavenger hunt with a grand prize of $100,000.
The game’s narrative revolves around a character named Grayson Ozias IV who has left wax cylinder voice recordings hidden across America.
The challenge for players is to find these recordings and, ultimately, the $100,000 fortune Ozias buried.
