While other stores are closing, Hermès will open its first store entirely dedicated to men’s ready-to-wear, accessories and art of living on Wednesday.
Located at 690 Madison Avenue in New York, “Hermès Man on Madison” will stand directly across the street from the U.S. flagship store.
The 2,450 square foot store is the first Hermès boutique in the world that is dedicated to men only.


For the second year in a row, overall sales of bottles of champagne were down — by 9.1 percent in 2009, in comparison with 2008.
The greatest loss came from exports outside the European Union, while exports to EU countries also fell, according to figures revealed by the Interprofessional Committee of Champagne Wine.
In 2009 there were 293.3 million bottles of champagne sold; stable sales in France allowed for a less dramatic overall loss in comparison with exports.


Businessweek reports that Russian billionaire Vladimir Potanin plans to leave almost all of his $2.1 billion fortune to charity within the next decade.
The billionaire says he won’t deprive his three children of material support and will appropriate money for their plans, as well as for unforeseen circumstances.
An article in The Financial Times says that Potanin was inspired by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett and has a long history of philanthropy.
