Urwerk have unleashed the “Black Cobra,” the newest model of the CC1 series.
Urwerk’s “Black Cobra” gets its name from “shedding” of its grey gold case into something a little darker and a whole lot more menacing.
Urwerk achieved this artistic transformation by treating the grey gold with Aluminum Titane Nitride (AlTiN).
Urwerk shows the time on two separate horizontal lines–one for the hour and the other for the minute.

A porcelain sign that once marked the intersection of Wall and Broad streets fetched $116,500 at Christie’s in Manhattan yesterday.
The seller, Kevin Lessin, bought the vintage sign about 25 years ago from a dealer liquidating the estate of a collector of New York memorabilia.
The sign consists of two enamel plaques set crosswise, with Broad above Wall in white letters on a cobalt-blue background.

Vietnam Airlines joined the SkyTeam alliance earlier this month, the latest airline to join one of the three loose confederations that dominate the aviation industry.
For most passengers, the membership lists of SkyTeam, OneWorld and Star Alliance are of little concern, as they make very little noticeable difference to the day-to-day services offered by the airlines.
But alliances are an important factor in travel and knowing who is who can often save travelers time and money, as well as increasing the comfort of the journey.
Alliance agreements almost always involve the creation of so-called “codeshare” routes, where airlines can sell space on board a flight operated by another alliance member as if it were their own.

Walt Disney Co. plans to unveil Wednesday a pricey vacation-home development in Florida’s Walt Disney World.
It’s a risky move. Disney will offer homes priced between $1.5 million and $8 million in a state where the foreclosure rate remains among the nation’s highest.
In Orlando, where brokers say home values have dropped 50% from the peak, Disney’s pricing would put its homes near the top of the market.

Libération – the iconic left wing French newspaper – has invited Karl Lagerfeld to be editor-in-chief for the day.
The entire issue bears his mark, from illustrations to comments, to special interviews of him, and an opinion page about the designer.
His illustrations include a self-portrait for the cover of today’s edition, which is 14 by 22 inches — twice as large as it usually is.
