Princess’ six new models – R35, F45, V55, V78, Y85 and X95

Princess Yachts has cemented itself as the world’s leading luxury yacht maker with six new models. Its revenue for the first six months of 2018 increased over 50 per cent versus H1 2017. Now its portfolio of yachts has increased with the launch of six brand new models – R35, F45, V55, V78, Y85 and X95 – of which the X and Y series are all-new classes.

These new boats solidify the company as the leading motor yacht brand for innovation, architecture, seakeeping and design elegance. Much to emphasise is its stellar profitability which is on track through H1 to more than double 2017’s full year EBITDA result which will hit historic levels. Thanks to the positive reaction in the market to its new models, Princess Yachts’ order book covers 100 per cent of 2018 production and 75 per cent of 2019 production, with significant orders even stretching into 2020. To respond, Princess Yachts has increased production volume by 30 per cent to target almost 300 yachts this year. This result will consolidate the firm’s position as the world’s best-selling brand of luxury yachts.

This success could not be possible without the enduring long-term partnership with Olesinski supplemented with new and unique collaborations with Pininfarina and Ben Ainslie Racing Technologies, innovators in design and America’s Cup racing. Putting the company into positive trajectory are also the technologies and processes from high-performance sports car industry. These have been integrated with Princess Yachts’ industry-leading nautical know know-how to drive unprecedented product desirability and performance.

Antony Sheriff, Executive Chairman of Princess Yachts commented, “The intensity of our new product programme has already brought outstanding results as customers relish the unique combination of craftsmanship, elegance, quality, performance and customer care that are core to every Princess Yachts’ craft. These next six new models raise the bar much higher with unprecedented use of innovative technologies, materials, architectural concepts and design solutions; we hope to be setting the standard for yacht producers for many years to come.”

The exceptional launch programme and financial result is underpinned by a five-year £100 million investment programme, now into its third year and fully on track. The investment recognises Princess Yachts’ strong, core market position but is directed towards driving innovation and growth across the business through desirable and innovative new products and technologies. Princess Yachts’ five Plymouth shipyards have now seen significant advances in manufacturing thanks to the introduction of innovative technologies and processes. In fact, its workforce has increased by 700 since January, bringing the total to 2,900 employees.

Representing incredible value to the UK economy, over 90 per cent of Princess Yachts are exported to customers around the world. True to their motto of “Crafted In Plymouth”, over 80 per cent of each yacht (excluding engines) is manufactured in the city, ensuring that Princess Yachts has control over the design, timings, and most crucially, quality.

So, what are these exciting new models? These six new ground-breaking yachts help to solidify Princess Yachts’ position in the market. These six new models demonstrate significant advances in Princess Yachts’ core values of seakeeping, architecture, innovation, design, craftsmanship and quality, providing Princess Yachts with even more ammunition by which to grow segment share and profitability in the coming years.
