Created to mark the opening of Gigi’s Italian Restaurant, the cocktail was launched to honor one of its celebrity attendees, Grace Jones.

The cocktail is topped with edible gold leaves and is also made with Angostura Bitters and sugar.

Don’t look for it on the restaurant’s cocktail menu, though, as the cocktail was created to be served to the eatery’s A-list guests.

Makers claim the Gigi’s drink tops the world’s most expensive tipples — beating Melbourne’s £8,167 Winston into second place.

Officially, the Guinness world record-holder for the most expensive cocktail in the world belongs to Australian barman Joel Heffernan, who sold “the Winston,” made with Croizet’s 1858 Cuvee Leonie cognac for £8,583.
