Today’s estate Mandalay Coral Gardens, in north Queensland, was voted Australia’s House of the Year by the Australian Master Builders Association in 2007-2008

Exquisitely situated on a peninsula with Pioneer Bay on one side and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park on the other, this stunning Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired estate represents the best of tropical north Queensland, Australia.

Designed by architect Peter Connelly, Mandalay Coral Gardens was constructed in 2005 by owner Bill Sharpe, whose firm was the continent’s 2007–2008 “builder of the year” in Australia.

Encompassing 1,230 square meters, (13,000 square feet), it employs such materials as New Zealand stone and Alpolic fascia in a modern design, complemented by the green vegetation and the aqua waters that embrace it.

Automated sliding glass walls line the living areas and open to wide covered terraces and the incredible infinity pool, which wraps around three sides of the house and creates a feeling of being connected directly to the Coral Sea beyond.

A swim-up wet bar enhances the swanky resort-style ambience.

There is also room for your own fleet with a 24-berth private marina and a private helipad.

The house comes with a private beach and Tepanyaki pavilion with a kitchen, powder room and dining area. The property includes a caretaker’s house, office and gym.

It is expected to sell for around $10 million.
