Hurun Report, renowned for its annual China Rich List of tycoons, has recently hosted Shanghai’s Best Presidential Suites Awards.

The awards ceremony was held on 15 June, timed to coincide with the opening of the Asia Luxury Travel Market, the region’s leading showcase for the luxury travel industry.

“Before now China’s luxury consumers have had little idea of Shanghai’s top suites and executive club lounges, despite the fact that hotels spend so much money on them,” says Rupert Hoogewerf, founder of Hurun Report

“We created a scorecard to assess and rank the top Presidential Suites and Executive Club Lounges, many of which are truly outstanding.”

Among 16 award winners, Pudong Shanghai Shangri-La (pictured above) was honoured for ‘Best River View’, Park Hyatt Shanghai for ‘Most Advanced Technology’ and The Portman Ritz-Carlton for ‘Best Oriental Style’.

Renaissance Shanghai Yuyuan was singled out for ‘Most Art Work’, Four Seasons for ‘Best Royal Living Style’, Hyatt on The Bund for ‘Most Panoramic View’, Intercontinental Shanghai Pudong for ‘Best Classic Chinese Style’ and Le Royal Meridien for ‘Best City View’.

“Most Modern Style” was attributed to The Longemont, ‘Best Luxury Bathroom’ to Sofitel Sheshan Resort, ‘Best Art Deco Style’ to Grand Hyatt, ‘Best New York Style’ to St Regis, ‘Best Minimalist Style’ to Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park and ‘Best View of Nature’ to Le Meridien Sheshan.

Nominated ‘Best Executive Club Lounges’ were Hilton Shanghai and Swissotel Grand Shanghai, along with ten of the presidential suite winners: Shangri-La, Park Hyatt, Portman Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance, Hyatt on The Bund, Le Royal Meridien, Sofitel Sheshan, Grand Hyatt, St Regis and Radisson.
