Hotel booking site Priceline has introduced a new search system that allows travelers to select hotels based on what’s included.

The system is perfect for travelers who love a free breakfast, free parking or room upgrades, with Priceline saying that it offers over 29,000 hotel freebies around the world on September 9.

Customers can search for the extras, such as free breakfast, free nights or spa credits, along with using a geographical search to narrow down freebies by city.

Searching for some freebies in Zurich, for instance, yields 12 “freebies” — one hotel with free breakfast, one hotel offering a third night free as well as several advance purchase or sale deals.

The company quietly rolled out the technology last week, according to reports, although it now appears to be fully functional for most major cities that were tried.

Priceline prides itself on an unashamedly brash approach to cut-price deals — its iPhone app features the brand ambassador, actor William Shatner, smashing through the screen.

It has also become something of a trendsetter in the online travel market, forcing competitors such as Expedia and Travelocity to follow suit when it eliminated booking fees in 2007.
