The first weekend of June sees the celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, with events planned across the UK and in London in particular.
If you’re heading to the British capital to catch the celebrations, here are six hotel packages fit for a queen:
St Ermin’s Hotel
April – August 2012
A tour of Westminster Abbey (scene of the coronation), afternoon tea, a picnic and a welcome pack of flags and hats make up this luxury hotel’s package, from £999 for two.
St. James Hotel and Club
Packages at this hotel, a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, start from £398 and include cheuffeur-driven airport transfers, afternoon tea and a Jubilee tea box gift from Royal Family favorite Fortnum and Mason.
The Ritz Hotel
The Ritz is the only hotel to hold a Royal Warrant and will offer a diamond Jubilee package from a suitably exclusive £2,200 per head. For that, you’ll get three nights’ accommodation, nightly Jubilee-inspired gifts, two tickets to a Diamond Dinner Dance event, afternoon tea and return transfers to HMS Belfast, to watch Her Majesty pass on the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
The Brown’s Jubilee Celebration Package includes two nights’ accommodation, tea for two, a welcome bottle of champagne, a copy of Our Queen by Robert Hardman, a commemorative Fortnum and Mason Jubilee plate and an appointment at Garrard, the oldest jewelry house in the world. Prices start from £495.
51 Buckingham Gate
From £1,149 this package includes tickets to see the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant in VIP seating with a champagne picnic and music from a string quartet, plus a Royal Afternoon Tea for two and Diamond Jubilee mugs as souvenirs.
Intercontinental London Park Lane
Queen Elizabeth grew up at this hotel’s location, 145 Piccadilly, so the hotel has gone all-out to celebrate. Priced from £6,060, the 3-night package includes tickets to watch the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant onboard Shaken Not Stirred, the luxury Sunseeker Superhawk featured in James Bond’s The World is Not Enough.
