Google has introduced a new feature for smartphones and other devices which will help users get more familiar with the area around their hotel.

There is a hitch, though: For the service to work, Google will troll your Gmail account and find the hotel confirmation.

Here’s how it works: On the Google search app, tap the mic and make your request. Users can ask questions like “Show me restaurants around my hotel” or “Give me directions to my hotel from here.”

It’s the latest travel-related feature from the search engine giant aimed at making it an indispensable tool for globetrotters.

Google Maps recently added transit information for 15,000 towns and cities around the world including public transit routes and schedules.

In cities like Vancouver and Chicago, commuters can also look up real-time updates and the fastest modes of transportations.
