Handbags made of recycled MINIs

Carmina Campus MINI

Carmina Campus, the label founded by Ilaria Venturini Fendi, has realised a truly unique collection realized in collaboration with Mini.

The bags use the materials left over from the prototypes of the Mini Roadster, which includes discarded color samples, seat leather, soft-top caves and body plates.

The capsule collection, very chic and inspired by the principles of recycling, includes weekend and city bags, both for men and women.

Material uses include seat leather for the bag exterior, mosaics made from body work, sun visors used to conceal makeup mirrors and door handles used as details on the smaller bags.

“For big brands like Mini in particular, up-cycling is an important issue,” Fendi said.

“After all, this is where you will always get scrap material that is generally described as waste, but in fact can become part of a high-quality object.”

The bags, penned by Ilaria Venturini Fendi and made in Italy, will be available exclusively at a 10 Corso Como event during Milan Fashion Week (February 22-28).
