Christophe Lemaire and the Japanese fashion giant are working on a womenswear and menswear collection for Fall 2015.

Previous guest designers at Uniqlo include Inès de la Fressange, Chloë Sevigny, Lily Donaldson and Helmut Lang’s menswear designer Alexandre Plokhov who created last fall’s capsule.

Uniqlo, owned by Fast Retailing, is a vertically integrated retailer known for colorful basics and technologically advanced fabrics.

“We have always dreamt to work with Uniqlo,” revealed Lemaire designers Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Lihn Tran who are fans of Uniqlo’s creative, comfortable everyday garments, and believe they are on the same page.

Fast Retailing boss Tadashi Yanai commented: “Lemaire’s approach to design respects individuality and merges perfectly with the Uniqlo lifewear philosophy, aimed at making life better. I myself am really looking forward to getting a glimpse of the results of our tie-up, and am thrilled that we are able to bring it to our customers around the world.”

The collaboration will incorporate menswear and womenswear and will be available at all Uniqlo stores, as well as online, from this autumn.

Lemaire, who led Lacoste for nine years before going to Hermès in 2010, now designs his namesake line with partner Sarah-Linh Tran.
