They may now not have a formal home but the people at Hong Kong’s Shanghai Tang brand are still making consumers sit up and take notice.

After 17 years at the Pedder Building in Central, Shanghai Tang lost the bid for the space to Abercrombie & Fitch, which will pay two and half times the previous rent.

And now Shanghai Tang takes up residence from Friday night on Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour — inside a series of Mongolia “gers” or traditional houses.

And the shopping landscape was extended further Tuesday as the Harvey Nichols brand welcomed shoppers into its 83,000-square-foot (7710 sq m] flagship in the city’s Pacific Place mall, set in the Admiralty district.

Louis Vuitton is celebrating two premieres: its first luxury concept store in the region, and its first ‘Island Maison,’ a multi-storey shopping location on a private island.

Located in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, the Maison built by star architect Peter Marino sells women’s and men’s collections, Louis Vuitton’s jewelry as well as design and art books. It is the 12th Maison in the world for the label.

Genoa is one of the largest boat shows of the year, with thousands of boats and a full program of ‘fringe’ events to ensure it caters for every nautical fan in town.

Some 450 debuts from the world’s biggest shipyards are expected for this 51st edition, spread over three pavilions and two marinas.

The largest flagship of this year’s show will be the CBI 50 ‘Alfos’, a 50 meter yacht, although there will be a dedicated mega-yacht area which is expected to boast some 30 boats with sizes up to 50 meters.

Italian fashion label Gucci inaugurated a museum in Florence Monday, showcasing the luggage and high-end clothing that have fueled the company’s success.

Located in the Palazzo della Mercanzia, the museum is only a few steps away from the 13th century Palazzo Vecchio and Michelangelo’s David.

The museum features an exhibit showing how their logo has evolved since Guccio Gucci, a former porter at the London’s Savoy hotel, founded the company in 1921.

The Brompton road store façade features themed windows, inspired by Lagerfeld’s most recent whimsical Ready-to-Wear collection, with a magical forest theme.

Situated on the Third Floor, the installation encompasses eight rooms dedicated to milestones in Chanel’s history.
