If you’ve ever wondered exactly what goes into running a hotel, Accor hotels chain is giving its customers the opportunity to find out.

A total of 41 hotels across Switzerland will be opening their doors for one day in October to allow visitors to find out exactly how things work behind the scenes.

Each hotel is compiling a specific program on October 10, ranging from bar workshops at the Novotel Bern to housekeeping demonstrations in the Ibis Locarno.

Even the brand’s luxurious MGallery properties in Zurich and Geneva will be opening their doors, offering tours and presentations from the hotel’s staff and general managers.

Other highlights include a look at hotel technology, wine tasting sessions, napkin folding sessions, cooking sessions and cocktail hours.

Accor says that the aim of the scheme is to make itself better known to the public, and to enlighten younger people as to what goes into a career in hospitality.
