Jean-Michel Othoniel J'Adore Dior Artist Edition

French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel was a guest artist at the House of Dior, invited to provide his vision of the iconic J’adore bottle.

Othoniel took inspiration from the “En huit” lines of the amphora. For this bottle, he called on the ancestral and unique know-how of the Murano glassmakers in Italy.

Each step in every hand blown bottle is as technical as it is detailed. The J’adore necklace is reinterpreted thanks to the spun glass technique, and is set delicately on the body of the bottle.

The artist wanted the necklace to be undone, creating the idea of freedom. The wire and the bead that decorate the bottle contain gold leaf. In the molten glass, they take up a different position in every bottle!

Three hundred of the handblown Murano glass bottles are available world-wide for the asking price of $3,500 (which includes three 15-milliliter refills).
