Dolce & Gabbana Womenswear Autumn Winter 2012

Dolce & Gabbana will showcase a small collection of couture clothing for the first time July 9, following in the footsteps of fellow Italian houses to embrace the higher end of the market such as Armani and Versace.

Following recent rumors on the matter, the label confirmed June 27 that it will present its couture creations to a small group of clients next month in Taormina, Sicily.

Pop-up restaurant The Cube

A mobile pop-up restaurant designed to appear semi-transparent from the outside has launched in London, providing diners with a bird’s eye view of the Thames and Westminster from atop the Royal Festival Hall.

After runs in Brussels and Milan, steel and glass restaurant The Cube by Electrolux has set up tent in London this summer, where it’s been mounted on the rooftop of the music hall. The installation comes in time for the summer Olympics.

Vivienne Tam Hong kong

New York-based fashion designer Vivienne Tam has unveiled her latest creation: a one-of-a-kind suite at Hong Kong’s Hotel Icon.

The minimalist suite marks Tam’s foray into interior design. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui East, the boutique hotel is owned by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

“I graduated from Poly U and when they told me about this hotel, I said, ‘That’s great. This is something that I’d love to give back to my school,’” said Tam.

Influenced by old Hollywood charm and inspired by the fashion house’s couture line of the same name, Gucci Première eau de parfum features top notes of bergamot and orange blossom, a heart of white flowers and musk, and base notes such as leather and wood.

Rado reveals Andy Murray as latest ambassador

Andy Murray, Britain’s number one tennis player, currently ranked fourth in the world, has signed on as an Ambassador with Swiss watch brand Rado.

The announcement was made ahead of the Aegon Championships, of which Rado is Official Watch Partner and Timekeeper.

Murray will wear the Rado D-Star 200 Automatic, a blue high-tech ceramic timepiece and the same watch as is sponsoring Queens.

World’s most expensive movie poster for sale

A rare movie poster of the 1927 silent classic, Metropolis, will go under the hammer once again as part of the liquidation of its owner’s assets.

The poster, painted by the German artist Heinz Schulz-Neudamm is one of only four known surviving copies.

It was bought by collector Kenneth Schacter for a still-record $690,000 but it is valued at $250,000 in the bankruptcy filing.
