Madonna For Louis Vuitton Fall 2009

Louis Vuitton has unveiled their new photo for their current ad campaign starring Madonna, following the extraordinary success of the S/S 2009 ad campaign.

Photographed by Steven Meisel, this is one of the seven images of Madonna in Louis Vuitton’s fall collection.

Madonna is looking very mannequin-like and of course rockin’ those infamous “Bunny Ears” again.

Millionaire Fair Moscow – Summer 2009

Held in Moscow for the first time, the Summer Fair is a smaller version of the giant luxury market, the Millionaire Fair.

“It’s definitely smaller, but the level of the participants is higher,” said Yelena Kudozova, the managing director of the Millionaire Fair. She listed carmakers McClaren and jewelry brand Piaget as examples.

Highlighting the exclusivity of the event, the fair was held at the Royal Bar yacht club on the bank of the Moscow River near Vodny Stadion metro station.

Dine With Warren Buffett for $1.68 Million

A bidder agreed to pay $1.68 million for a steak lunch with billionaire investor Warren Buffett in a charity auction completed on Friday night on eBay.

The winning bid in the 10th annual fund-raiser fell short of last year’s record $2.11 million, paid by Hong Kong-based investor Zhao Danyang.

As in recent years, the winner and up to seven friends may dine with the world’s second-richest person at the Smith & Wollensky steakhouse in New York.

Most expensive bridal gown in Vietnam

Pictured above is a bridal gown from Vietnam, which is decked out with 222 diamonds and 100 red rubies.

Valued at 2 billion dong ($117,000), the “Bach ngoc xiem y” (gown with hundreds of gemstones) is the most expensive bridal gown in Vietnam.

This unique gown is an artwork by young fashion designer Huy Vo, who presented a bridal gown made of orchids at the Dep Fashion Show 7, and goldsmiths from the Doji jewelrygroup.

Hublot have partnered with Swiss racing bicycle manufacturer BMC to create a bicycle built along the same principals as Hublot watches.

The distinctive of Hublot’s “All Black” bike is made from innovative materials created using state of the art technology.

Attention has been paid to every single detail. The pedal bearings contain ceramic material to reduce friction and the frame is made from carbon fiber for strength and rigidity.

New Shangri-La Maldives Resort To Open In July

Asia Pacific’s leading luxury hotel group, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, will open Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa Male, Maldives, on July 26, 2009.

Located in Addu Atoll, the resort is surrounded by nearly 2 kilometres of beautiful white-sandy beach and more than 6 kilometres of breathtaking white sandy beach.

The landscape of Villingili is dominated by 17,000 coconut trees and 45 plant species, including the noni plant.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Selfridges, Louis Vuitton has launched a Concept Store, to celebrate its iconic Speedy bag.

The Speedy Concept Store features an insight into the history of the Speedy and the Louis Vuitton brand, as well as giving customers the opportunity to purchase product.

Specialist techniques such as hot stamping and Mon Monogram are available to customers, who can personalise there purchases.

Picasso musketeer sells for $11.5M in London

A late “musketeer” painting by Pablo Picasso sold for 7 million pounds ($11.5 million) at Sotheby’s last night as buyers looked for value in the contracted auction market for Impressionist art.

The 1969 work dates to a period late in Picasso’s life when he was obsessed with floppy-hatted swashbucklers and their Casanova lifestyles.

In this version, Picasso’s doppelganger stands before a velvety red backdrop in a yellow jacket. He holds a sword as if posing for an Old Master portrait.

New Armani Flagship Store Tokyo

Giorgio Armani has recently opened a huge new store near Louis Vuitton over Roppongi Hills with limited edition commemorative items and a lineup of the latest from this fashion icon.

The interior of the new store was deisgned by Armani himself and includes walls of glass, granite floors and a three VIP lounges for those gentleman that need some personal assistance.

2009 French Chamber SME Awards in Hong Kong

The French Chamber presented its second SME Awards during the Chamber’s Annual Gala dinner which took place on May 22, at the Grand Hyatt.

Originally created by Christine Lagarde, French Minister for the Economy, Industry and Employment, the SME Awards aim to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit and development of SMEs created by French entrepreneurs in HongKong.

The French Chamber awarded two prizes this year: the “Excellence SME Award” and the “Start-up SME Award”.

Omas Limited Edition Moon Landing Pen

It’s been 40 years now since American space mission Apollo 11 landed on the moon. To commemorate the occasion, Italian pen maker Omas, has launched the “One Small Step” line.

The body of the pen is crafted out of white gold and features 3D drawings of the footsteps of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

Priced at $49,000, the “One Small Step” is available in a limited edition that includes 21 fountain pens with plunger and 7 roller ball pens.
